Winter (May through August) is a good time to visit Botswana, as the wildlife never wanders from from the water sources. The days are pleasant but it does get cold as soon as the sun disappears beyond the horizon. During the rainy season, November to February large migrations from winter grazing areas to summer grazing areas take place, along with the arrival of the calving season for many of Botswana’s plainsgame. While the rainy season does bring with it high grass and lush vegetation, it is certainly a beautiful time of year with large rolling thunder clouds, that bring with it late afternoon downpours but never lasts long, allowing you to enjoy the afternoon sunset. Capture Africa recommens that you travel to Botswana between the months of April-November avoiding most of the heavy rains yet still allowing for different seasons to be experience.
