Agent Tips

When planning a safari itinerary for your clients there are a number of things to keep in mind.

Getting to camp: For each of the destinations available there is an option to fly your guests in or drive them in. Capture Africa can book charter flights to Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai, Savute, Kasane (Chobe), Nxai Pans and Xai Xai. Please note that the airstrip in the Central Kalahari is about 5 hrs drive from the private camp site and there is no way to avoid this. In all the other cases, the airstrips are relatively close to the sites themselves. Driving to any one of the above destinations is also reasonable, however please note that all road transfers are in an open gave viewer. Therefore, the weather, dust and distance to drive is something you would need to consider for your clients.

Composing itineraries: When putting together a trip please be sure to speak to us about it as there are several destinations that are a fair distance from each other and moving in one day is not possible. In other cases, it is just important to let the clients know that they will be out all day and will have a packed lunch along the way as camp will be moving and so cannot host them until the evening again. For example, it is not possible to move a mobile camp from the Central Kalahari to any of the other destinations in 1 day and always require a night stop over at a lodge, normally in Maun. Please be sure to chat to us about combination of destinations and that they fit suitably with mobile safari logistics.

Dietary Requirements: Capture Africa is experienced with having to provide and cater for many various dietary requirements, from gluten free to vegan. Please be sure to let us know the dietary requirements of your clients, as well as any allergies that they have. We do provide beverages for each style of safari. These are local brands, so please be sure to let us know if there is anything special required and note that this may come at an extra expense.

Medical Evacuation: Capture Africa is a member with the Okavango Air Rescue unit here in Northern Botswana. Each of your clients is signed up before their arrival and allows for 1 helicopter rescue from where ever necessary should anything serious happen. For the smaller incidents we do have a first aid kit in each vehicle and in the camp itself.

Specialized Safaris: Please note that the specialized safaris do not run on the normal rates and there will be an extra cost involved to cover their individual fee’s. Please be sure to discuss these with us.

Vehicles: Our vehicle’s can sit 7 people comfortably. Please note that if your clients want less people per vehicle it will come at an extra cost, which is mentioned in the rates.

Children: As a family run business Capture Africa takes pride in being able to cater for children and make sure that they too have a great time while on safari with us.
